Internship: Administration/General Management
Food & Beverage Internship - Lake County Captains Professional Baseball Club (Eastlake, OH)

Position in the corporate structure:  The Food & Beverage Operations Intern will report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage.

Food & Beverage Operations Intern Duties:

1)     Assist with ensuring a first class experience for all guests in the Classic Park party` suite level for all guests.

2)     Assist with producing seasonal employee schedules on a monthly basis based upon expected attendance figures and demand, and notifying all event staff of their individual work schedules. 

3)     Oversee the processing and successful execution of all advance food orders for all suites prior to event dates.

4)     Prepare all pre-orders for all suites and picnics and disseminate to appropriate management staff for execution.

5)     Actively follow-up and solicit advance food orders for all future event suite clients.

6)     Take an active role in following-up with all game day suite staff and group contacts during each event to ensure a quality experience for all customers and employees.

7)     Process all direct bills for suite clients and follow-up to ensure balances are collected in a timely manner. 

8)     Assist with processing and filing all accounts payable invoices.

9)     Assist in the oversight and execution of pre-event catering orders for all other private group areas, ensuring that all details are communicated appropriately to the sales staff and food & beverage staff.

10)  Work with the ticket sales staff to ensure all pre-event food orders are properly understood and executed, serving as an active conduit between the ticket sales department and food and beverage department.

11)  Properly complete the event usage/inventory report after each AYCE group event and submit to the Director of Food & Beverage.

12)  Work with the Director, Food & Beverage to produce regular updated reports on COGS, Labor and General Expenses to ensure the Department is tracking appropriately with its budget.

13)  Assist management staff with overseeing a monthly physical inventory.

Internship: Marketing
Promotions Internship - Lake County Captains Professional Baseball Club (Eastlake, OH)

Position in the corporate structure:  The Promotions Intern will report directly to the Director of Promotions & Marketing.

Promotions Intern Duties:

 Game Day

1)             Prepare game day promotions under the direction of the Director of Promotions & Marketing

2)             Assist with set-up of game day operations including placing promotional items and programs at each entrance gate

3)             Ensure the promotional sign-up table is set-up in the concourse and professional in appearance at all times

4)             Provide an enthusiastic and energetic appearance to all fans during each home game.

5)             Assist with pre-game on-field activities

6)             Assist in the execution of in-game promotions, ensuring contestants have been selected and are in place for a seamless production

7)             Assist in coordinating post-game activities

8)             When not specifically assigned to a certain task during the game, “work the crowd” to ensure enthusiasm and a positive fan experience. Never congregate with other interns or Captains employees.

9)             Develop skits and other coordinated activities to perform in-game

10)          Be a leader in customer service

11)          Work as a member of a TEAM, and Have Fun!!!

12)          Conduct self in a professional manner

13)          Perform other duties as determined by the General Manager

Street Team

 14)          Participate in public events as assigned by the organization with the mission to increase the exposure of the Lake County Captains throughout the community

15)          Assist with Captains Charities events, which may include the 5K Race, Golf Outing, or other TBD events.

16)          Distribute collateral material and literature throughout the community

17)          Encourage public interaction with the team

Essential Job Functions:

The ideal candidate for this position must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

18)          Open and friendly personality

19)          Willing to take direction and learn

20)          Willingness to interact with the public at community and team functions

21)          Knowledge of baseball, and team promotional/ticket programs is a plus

22)          Minimum physical requirements are able to lift, carry and transport up to 30 pounds

23)          Must be reliable, punctual, and courteous.

24)          Good listening skills and ability to work with brief instruction.

25)          Must be flexible and able to handle situations with a quick and professional response

26)          Must have reliable transportation—mileage expenses incurred for official team business will be reimbursed

27)          Ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends from April – August
