Game Day Ticket Sales Intern - Lake County Captains (Eastlake, OH)


Title: Ticket Sales Intern – Game Day

Position in the corporate structure: This is a part-time internship that begins in June and concludes in early September, 2017. The Ticket Sales Intern will report directly to the Assistant GM and the Box Office Manager.

Ticket Sales Intern Duties:

1) Assist ticket sales staff members with specific sales responsibilities, including: sales calls to prospective clients; assist in processing ticket orders and coordination of group events.

2) Perform personal sales calls during the season to gain experience selling ticket packages and group events to local businesses and individuals.

3) Assist in pocket schedule distribution throughout the Lake County community.

Game Day

4) Continue the sales process by ensuring detailed execution of all group events is completed and each game’s groups are processed properly.

5) Assist the sales staff in the execution of each individual’s groups and account follow-up prior to and during games.

6) Assist the ticket sales staff in preparing all private group areas, as needed, for each game.

7) Assist the ticket sales staff in setting up and breaking down the Ticket Information Center prior to and after each game, ensuring all necessary materials are displayed and stored correctly.

8) Assist in the oversight of the part-time box office staff.

9) Answer in-coming phones and exhibit good customer service.

10) When not specifically assigned to a certain task during the game, "work the crowd" to ensure enthusiasm and a positive fan experience. Never congregate with other interns or Captains employees.

11) Work with the Captains staff to follow up with all accounts during the season.

12) Be a leader in customer service.

13) Work as a member of a TEAM, and Have Fun!!!

14) Conduct self in a professional manner.

Non-Game Day

15) Assist in the sales, follow-up and servicing of all ticket accounts.

16) Assist in ticket sales department bulk mailing preparations and distribution.

17) Assist the ticket sales staff in printing and, if necessary, delivery of group tickets

18) Answer in-coming phones and exhibit good customer service.

19) Perform out-going sales calls, as needed, to assist in group projects and theme nights.

20) Assist in the compilation of materials and information needed for sponsorship proof of performances, as directed by the Assistant General Manager-Sales.

21) Assist in preparation and execution of in-season ticket package holder events.

22) Be available to work special events at Classic Park during the 2017 season, including, but not limited to: concerts and non-baseball events.

23) Assist in Fundraising and working Captains Charities events

24) Work Community events showcasing the Lake County Captains

Essential Job Functions:

The ideal candidate for this position must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

1) Open and friendly personality.

2) Willingness to sell and present Captains ticket package opportunities to prospective clients

3) Willing to take direction and learn.

4) Willingness to interact with the public and be a dynamic representative of the Captains front office staff.

5) Knowledge of baseball, and team promotional/ticket programs.

6) Minimum physical requirements are able to lift, carry and transport up to 30 pounds

7) Must be reliable, punctual, and courteous.

8) Must possess superior organizational and time management skills.

9) Good listening skills and ability to work with brief instruction.

10) Must also be flexible and able to handle situations with a quick and professional response.

11) Must have reliable transportation—mileage expenses incurred for official team business will be reimbursed.
